Activities: We organize two major Fairs:
Strawberry Fair in June
Pumpkin Fair in October
All Saints' Episcopal Church is the host of the following organizations:
1. AA-.46th Street, they have been meeting here for over 10 years.
2. The Sunnyside Drum & Bugle Corps-under the leadership of Tony Lana
(The only one in town) attracts youths from various backgrounds and cultures in the community.
3. Sunnyside Home Care & Subsidiary of Sunnyside Community Services
(Training for nurse's aides)
4. Ballroom Dance Club under the instruction of Bill Killick, meetings twice
a week: Thursday 7-9:30, Saturday 3-5:30.
5. The Boy Scouts.
All Saints' Episcopal Church operates two outreach programs:
1. The Computer Literacy/ Job Readiness & Training for Life running the 1st tier of the Program: Computer Literacy began in March now is running 8 classes in English & Spanish.
The following is the course outline:
A. Introduction to computers- $49.00 for two weeks, twice a week,
B. Windows 98 - $99.00 for four weeks, twice a week.
C. MS Word - $140.00 for six weeks, twice a week.
D. Excel - $140.00 for six weeks, twice a week.
E. Power Point - $ 140.00 for six weeks, twice. (Saturday classes also available).
Soon we hope to offer a Job Readiness Program:
1. Dressing for an interview
2. Interview preparation - Mock interviews
3. Interview - Network
4. Punctuality - moving to the technological world
All Saints' also began in February, Music at All Saints' Series, a brand new program. The first Concert took place in February it was a success. We hope to offer a few concerts a year. The goal is to utilize Talents in the Community and to offer cultural activities (music) at a reasonable cost.
