Willy (the Actor) Sutton, Bank Robber
Willy (the Actor) Sutton being
arraigned at police headquarters,
after robbing the old Manufacturers-Trust Co. on March 9th, 1950
located at 47-11 Queens Boulevard. At the time of the robbery Willy locked
up the bank manager in the vault with 17 employees, along with Sunnyside Postman Nicholas
Sudano who by his bad luck and timing came into the bank with his mail delivery. The bank manager was
Bob Hoffmann who was the organizer of the Sunnyside Chambers of Commerce and its
first President.
