A Visit From Star Wars

Saturday September 6th, 1980 was a Gateway Street Fair day, which was a fun community event. The success of the street fair was based on all of the people from the community coming together and volunteering. The above shows the legendary Darth Vader (played by Colin Reader a British banker who lived in Woodside) greeting the fair goers. It was a hot, hot day and I remember Colin complaining about how hot the costume was. As Darth Vader he walked the fair grounds and delighted all.
