43rd Street Movie Theatre



 

The child on the slide is Willy Brooks.  He is sitting on a slide in Thompson Hill Park in front of the old "43rd Street Movie Theatre".  The 43rd St. Movie house was one of four movie theatres in our area in the forties, we also had Bliss, Sunnyside, and the Center which is still in operation. This picture was donated to the Chamber by the late Rose Brooks. If anyone has any photographs of any of the four theatres that were in our community the Chamber would be grateful to copy them. Help us save our history.
