Veterans Memorial Monument

Saturday June 14th 1976 was the official
dedication of the Sunnyside/Woodside Veterans Memorial Monument located in the park at Queens Blvd. And 50th Street. A project that was in the works for 5 years. It was built under the co-operation efforts of the Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of Sunnyside, John V. Daniels VFW Post, and Blissville American Legion.
The memorial is beautiful polished black granite mined and quarried in Vermont and set up by Fasolino Monuments. Some of the community leaders at the time who worked on the project included Lou

handing check to Dominic Faslino, Joe Sabba, and Benjamin Shaw. It was part of the bicentennial celebration, celebrating the 200 birthday of America. Monument was designed by architect Dominick
