The Council meets the last Tuesday of the month
at 8 pm at Nakwon Reformed Church, 41-10 Queens Boulevard,
(entrance of 42nd Street. Everyone is welcome. No Meetings
in the months of July, August and December.
Population: 94,845 (1990 Census)
Precinct Area: 4.4 Square Miles
IDENTIFIABLE NEIGHBORHOODS:
LONG ISLAND CITY: The western most section of the precinct from the East River to
approximately 36 Street. This is a predominately industrial area, with the exception
of the Queens Western Development Project, which began construction in 1995. This
project will develop the Queens waterfront with nineteen high-rise apartment buildings, retail stores, a school, and park property.
SUNNYSIDE: The central portion of the precinct beginning at 37 Street and continuing east to 52 Street. This is a predominantly residential area.
WOODSIDE: The easternmost portion of the precinct from approximately 52 Street to
72 Street. This is a predominantly residential area.
