Sunnyside Artists "Portrait of the Exquisite:" Jury Show

Judging is complete for "Portrait of the Exquisite," which will open June 13 as part of Queens Art Express, and remain open five weeks until July 18. "Portrait" features many interpretations of the "exquisite," some droll, some serious. Proprietor Maruf of Bliss Bistro, the location of the show, will offer a glass of wine at $5 on June 13 from 1 to 5pm. Bliss Bistro is located at the corner of 46th Bliss Street at 45-20 Skillman Avenue.

Sunnyside Artists: Art at Queen of Angels: The third affordable art show will be held, June 13, 2010, at Queen of Angels Church Meeting Hall on the southwest corner of Skillman Avenue and 44th Street in Sunnyside, as part of Queens Art Express, the borough-wide festival along the #7.

Sunnyside Rail Tour: Thirdly, Sunnyside has examples of railroad which operate below, on and above the ground. The internationally-known Sunnyside Yards is largely untouched, and is the site of fascination for rail enthusiasts worldwide. The #7 MTA train, elevated through Sunnyside and Woodside, is rated the cleanest and most efficient subway in all of the City.
Chamber Member and SunnysideArtist Laura Heim, local architect and preservation-minded community member, will open up a "pop-up" mini architecture show on June 13, from 1-5pm , as part of Queens Art Express. She will feature photographs and items relating the the adjacent landmarked Sunnyside Gardens and other local lore.
